About Mindy
As a female college track athlete, I was told my irregular periods were “normal” because they ran in the family. However, after coming off hormonal contraceptives and learning about the menstrual cycle as a vital sign, I realized that this belief wasn’t entirely accurate.

Once I started paying more attention, especially as I became ready to start a family, I discovered that my period was so light it barely seemed there. While working in critical care and feeding my clients with intravenous nutrition, I often wondered what more I could do to help them before they reached such an advanced stage of disease. I also learned that I had an abdominal fluid collection near my ovaries (hydrosalpinx), which could increase my risk of ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. I turned to online searches to figure out what was going on, but they only left me more overwhelmed and confused.

Determined to take matters into my own hands, I studied the research on fertility nutrition in hopes of improving my chances of conception. I learned to track my cycle with a symptom-thermal method. I identified areas where my cycle could be optimized, and this motivated me to align what I was eating with what my body really needed to support my busy, active lifestyle. I reconnected with intuitive eating, became more intentional with my nutrient intake, and adjusted my vitamin and food intake based on my activities. When I saw these changes lead to positive improvements in my cycle, I felt empowered and self-actualized.

During this experience, I realized that fertility nutrition and epigenetics can restore cycle balance, support fertility, and benefit the health of future generations. That’s why I started Day and Nite to provide fertility and prenatal nutrition services so that women like you can regain harmony in your menstrual cycle through personalized care, community support, and culinary empowerment.
